Battery Vent

Battery Vent
I have 2006 GT and my original battery finally took a dump on me. I went after an Interstate, but couldn't find one anywhere near me. I ended up going with the Napa Legend 84 as I've heard/read good things and I was able to get it for a decent price.
When I went to install the battery I noticed a plastic bag with two plastic parts on the side. The bag says something along the lines of vents and there is one plug and a right angle fitting. It says you're suppose to put the fitting on the same side as the original battery...which of course had none.
I'm planning on installing the plug on the plus side of the battery (nearest the fender) and the right angle vent plug on the negative (nearest the engine). Does this seem reasonable?
I'm hoping I don't have to run a hose down and out as if that's the case I'll return it and find a non-venting battery.
Thanks!

I have always purchase Sears Diehard Batteries in my cars and trucks...
I also have a 2005 Mustang that needed a battery so I got a Sears Diehard or Gold Diehard which works great in size 40R which means that the posts are indented so that the cables will be recessed and will not interfere with the hood closure...
I never heard of the venting on a battery...
The cost of a Sears Diehard in my area (on sale) was about $89.96 and the Gold Diehaed was about $129.95. Now Sears has a Diehard Ultimate for about $169.95 but I did not want to spend that much at the time...
Good Luck... Dave
