I've always been baffled by this explanation. Isn't the fuel pick up at the bottom of the tank? If so, wouldn't it suck any garbage that is in the bottom of the tank anyway? (With all of the sloshing going on around corners and over bumps.)

idk if its at the bottom but if it is then the garbage would be floating at the top and when the fuel level was really low then it would get sucked in to..just my educated guess lol
That said, if you reach 0 miles to E and have a Mustang with MyColor gauges your fuel gauge should change to red once you reach that 0 mark. And then you should have roughly a gallon left.

I'm thinking all my guages are red all the time.....
