Default Is it ok to abuse Cruise Control?

I was just wondering how reliable is Cruise Control and is it ok to constantly use it or does it have any harmful side effects?

I studied a little about this but just not enough to find the answer to my question. I hope someone can enlighten me.

Cheers

I don't think I abuse it, however I do use when ever possible. Never really thought about it.

I have no idea how you mean "abuse" cruise control. I use cruise control all the time in all of my vehicles but 90% of my driving is rural highway and semi-divided highway. I suppose I've been abusing cruise control in the 10 or more cars that I've owned for the past 33 years.

I should've been clearer. By abuse I just meant using it a lot. Does it have any side effects or is it ok to use daily anytime, anywhere?

I constantly use cruise control. The only time you should avoid it is when you're breaking in a new engine, transmission or clutch.

All cruise control does is maintain vehicle speed by applying or removing throttle; no different than your right foot and probably much easier on the engine than your right foot.

Side Effects are Diarrhea; dizziness; flushing; headache; heartburn; stuffy nose; upset stomach. If you have a prolonged erection seek medical attention right away.
