Does that TCI trans shift harder than stock and get you down the 1/4 quicker or is it just built with sturdier internals. I am considering building up my auto trans, but not going over 500whp anytime soon..
I don't really know to be honest if it can get you down the 1/4 any quicker than a stock 5R55s.
What I would say is this, it will more than likely hold up longer on the 1/4.
My is mainly built for and is driven on the street.
It is fast on the 1/4 but it is more a street driven Mustang.
The 1/ mile runs wer just to see how fast it was.

You can build up your Trans. I'm sure.

I went with the TCI Super Street Fighter and Circle-D converter because mine started out as a manual 5-speed Mustang.

Let me add this comment.
I only wanted to go through this one time.
So picked the best products I could.
I cannot do transmission changes myself so I went with the products that seem to work.
Labor is an expense that if one can only have to pay for once I think you are better off.
Pay more on the front end for the Parts/Products and only foot the cost for Labor one time.

Ditto.. I know the pains of multiple installs myself lol -no fun at all.

I worked as an R&R auto trans tech for awhile so I may end up doing the work myself if I do...

I worked in support functions to service for 15 years.
Very familiar with their operation.
Oh and their Hourly Labor Cost.

Just got into the field a few years ago..

I still laugh at the price of install of parts ie; $90 cabin air filter, $75 light bulb replacement, $600 brake pads/rotors etc.

but I just do my job lol
