New intake, should I go ram air
Hey guys I have a trufiber venom II hood my 08 gt. Iam looking to put an aftermarket intake on it since Im still running the stock one. Should I go with a true ram air intake or something else? Im planning on getting a tuner to so a combo would be cool.
Thanks

Does anyone have any info on this? I cant seem to find a true ram air intake for my car? Do you guys know of one. Also this is a gt500 hood on a gt. Will I have a problem getting the ram air to line up?

Personally I find no point in it. Unless you'll be at high speeds - like - in a track race - for extended periods - it isn't very effective.
Cervini's part # 8029

I custom built one with a friend who knew how to work with fiber glass. The only true benefit is delivering cooler air to THE ENGINE BAY. helps reduce a little heat. I designed mine for a procharger. To where it dumped right on the filter where it would sit on the driver side. That way it wasn't sucking in engine bay heat but rather outside temp air. a little better. Never got around to using a Procharger. Went the nitrous route instead.

The trufiber hoods are all ram air intake, if you open the hood, underneath you should see a square opening that's where the air box is, that's the ram air vent. Their hoods tunnel the air to the factory airbox location.

Teh only problem with the Cervinis ram air system is that its expensive for not a whole lot of improvement over a regular CAI. Also, if you decide to upgrade to a S/C or Turbo later on, you'll have a harder time finding someone that will take that system off your hands.

Ram air hoods have no affect on performance. You'll waste time and effort trying to get gains. It boils down to how much air your engine can ingest, NOT what you can force at the intake without mechanical assistance.
