Flashing OD light
Hello, Every copule weeks, my OD light flashes om and off. The way i get it to stop is to pull over and shut the car off. I haven't found any ansers why it flashes. Anyone else have the same problem?

The OD light flashing indicates a problem with the ABS system. It's in the Owners Manual. The OM is that oblong thing in the glove box made of paper and cardboard with wierd markings on the pages...

If you have hotrod cams or detroit rocker cams this is very common. I have asked JDM to revise my tune as I get this event once a month for a year now. They have not and will NOT revise my tune. Why? IDK.
Otherwise it could be a trans issue. Make sure your fluid is full. These trans do loose fluid and without a dipstick you cant easily check it.

I do have cams and a custom tune. But the light came on before I did any of that. i had the tranny serviced last year, and it shifts fine when the light is flashing. its just annoying more then anything else. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

I had a 1998 Ford Explorer 2wd, auto, 6cy eng......The flashing OD light had to with a shift solenoid within the transmission. I took it to the dealership which was no help.....wanted 400.00 plus to open the trransmission .....had another place resolve the issue. If this is the issue the solenoids are located with the transmission pan area....I hope this helps....
