Your good. JCON's just a bit frazzled this week with finals, papers due, etc. 2 piece with black boots are the fail-tastic ones. Pre-like 01/08 built stangs. For anyone that has an 08, the "AA" or "AB" code will tell you for certain, which can be found easily on the door sticker. Mine is "AA", meaning I had the 2 piece plug design:

Actually, I am the only person I have ever heard of this happening to, but I got a total refund, the entire amount, from Ford Motor Company. I guess it came from the email campaign I went on. I contacted two different offices at Ford as well as the owner of the dealership and a month or two later I was at the service dept for a minor recall and the service manager presented me with the check. I guess I am the squeaky wheel. I am still using Champion #7989 plugs though.

Saw this thread and it makes my lip quiver a bit realizing I have an 05 with 56k on the odometer. hopefully the tool isnt too expensive

lisle tool on amazon = $60, you can find people re-selling theirs in the for-sale section here after they use it that one time quite frequently for even less. Hell, I don't think I'll ever need to use mine again..So I'll throw that out there, if you want to get it. Never used.

I broke 3 after following all of the recommended steps. The engineer that designed this head/spark plug combination should spend the rest of his days in hell with a Lisle tool up his a@@.

before you remove your plugs you should warm up the engine to about 120 deg. then brake them loose 1/4 turn then spray with cleaner. this will help you remove them easier. i deal with at work every day. also put antisieze around the shaft to help with the removal the next time

I always put anti-seize on my shaft for easy removal!

I did everything by the books and still six out of the eight snapped off lol that tool is a life saver tho. If I were you i'd get e3 plugs to replace the ****ty ford oem, I have them in my and they are great.
