I figured high flow vs catless wasn't a huge gain, found somewhere else where they dyno'ed 2 rwhp. TI told me that going from 87 to 93 would net an additional 7 rwhp due to timing. That magically works out to 9 rwhp, the same amount you gained.

The more supporting air-mods that you have, the better that you're going to take advantage of removing the cats. A stock car without cats isn't going to notice a low-end loss, where as a car that already has CAI/Intake will be better. A supercharged application will probably feel no loss whatsoever by removing the cats. It's all about when they actually become a restriction. They're always slightly restrictive, but at some point you actually benefit quite a bit throughout the whole powerband by removing them.

I say once you have a CAI/Tune, that's enough to justify removing the cats. Anything more than that and you'll be fine.
