Default UPDATE

After saying enough is enough, I forced 4 more quarts of fluid in the tranny and low and behold, she runs like a raped ape!

No slipping, no finicky shifts, it goes when it's supposed to, the tc engages like it should, all is right with the world. The rattle around the shifter is still there, but I think I've pin pointed that to exhaust vibration.

Thanks to all for your advice and guidance, it was a big help.

Hi guys! I'm new to the forum and just got a 98 Gt. Has been running great until trans started to shudder and check engine light came on. Had local shop run the code and it was determined to be a slipping torque converter. Fluid level is full and had new fluid since we had a flush done. I just dropped the pan to replace the filter thinking it may be clogged and found two things that are concerning. 1) filter just fell into pan and appears to be loosely held in place only by the pan?? Also, one of the valve body bolts was
sitting in the pan. Any ideas what is going on here? Thanks!

Your gonna get better replies asking this question in the forum for your year. Your trans is different than ours in the 05-10 cars. Sounds like your shop or whomever did a sh*t job when they replaced the filter. a bolt in your pan, not good.
