OKay, went to Autozone and they tested the alternator, it's fine. I guess I'll have to try and replace the sensors and see if that's the issue.

It will test good, but it's still causing excessive AC ripple.

Well, car is still at the Ford dealer and I'm not sure what's going to happen with this friggin cam code. The dealership says it's the tune but I talked to Bob Kurgan about it and he almost guarantee's it's NOT the tune. So I'm in a holding pattern with the dealership. I've asked them to replace the Cam Shaft Sensor and they seem to be put off about it.

This is one weird problem, not sure what direction to take?

Tell them to do a ripple test on the alternator. See if they even know what that is. I know I'd never heard of it.

I had the same issues. I got the infamous P0340, 0345 and 0349. I replaced the alternator, battery and cam sensors and still getting the 0345 and 0349 codes. Im a little baffled about what I should do. Any suggestions?

Realllllyyyyyy, WTF? There has to be a cause for this and finding an answer to to it seems to be extremely difficult. The Ford dealer says they never see the code, I'm the first

thanks for the link!!

Think I'm going to get the car from the dealership and take it to an alternator shop and let them test the diodes. I asked the dealership about a ripple test and they didn't know what that was and neither do I

Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this soon. Don't like my check engine light being on

Alternator shop said everything is perfect with the diodes, go figure.

At this point I don't know what to do? Car runs fine but nobody can tell me why it's throwing p0340? and my check engine light is still on

I had the same problem. Engine was throwing that code but wasnt showing any signs of a bad alternator. I did notice that if i drove with traction control off the cel light would go away and stay away as long as i left it off. As soon as i turned it on a drove a bit it would come right back on. Then one night im driving home and the radio dies lights go off i pull into a parking lot and car wont start after i turned it off. Try turning your traction control off everytime you drive for two days. If the cel light goes off then get a new alternator. But i do agree with everyone else and say im 90% positive that its your alternator.
