Default Remote door unlock

Hi to all, just acquired my first Mustang, 2005 GT convertible, being old school I always open the door for my bride and was disappointed to not have a key unlock on the pass, door.

I don't have a remote fob, is it possible to purchase one and have it programmed to the car? I notice a solenoid on the trunk lock and assume with electric locks on the doors there would be the same within the door.
TIA
Dale

Yeah it should be compatible. I dont know how you can program without having one factory keyfob without going to the dealer. But it should be entirely possible to do it and I thought they all had the remote locking...hence the lack of a lock cylinder on the passenger side.

The remotes can be programmed by following the owners manual.....even if you do not have any to start with. Remotes are cheap on ebay...just get one for your year and make car.

Paid $6 for two for my granddaughters '00 Focus and programmed them by the owners manual. None were provided with the car. FYI.....any car that one thinks had remote locks can find out by running the vin through the Ford dealers parts dept. That tells them how the car was optioned for replacement parts.....again.....did it on the Focus.

I bought an 08 GT w/ Premium package and I also didn't have a key fob. I figure with the leather and Shaker 500 system, I should definitely have remote locks. I didn't notice when I bought the car until the keys were handed over.

That being said, I also don't have a owner's manual. Anyone know of a pdf version, or can someone post the programming directions?

Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the postion just shy of starting your car.)
Within 20 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 4.
Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 3. for all other remotes.
Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
