2010GT Desperate! Can't find timing mark indentation on cams!
Hi everybody, i'm performing detroit rocker cams install, but i'm stuck in one point.
i have the ford racing manual and when removing stock cams there's a photo of the crankshaft with a teeth where i have to align, clock a little in order to gain the position for taking off cams.
In 2010 4.6 the surface of this pulley or crankshaft is smooth!
I don't know what to do, anyone has clue?
Of course as you can imagine, here there's no one to ask about.
sorry for my english.

ok if you can't feel with your finger the little notch on the crankshaft
pulley (the edge closest to engine), then one way to position the cams
is as follows:
find top dead center of cylinder number 1 (passenger side, closest to radiator) with a long wooden dowel. if the passenger side cam lobes look like the picture in the manual you are
good. if they don't look right, then rotate the crankshaft one full turn clockwise.

thanks for the info, finding the tdc with the metal wire method its kinda like old fashioned, but since i don't have any other instructions or options i'll do that way. plus i'll try to align the dark link of the chains with the letter L on the crankshaft driver side, and R on passenger as the dealer said. this plus that should give me quite accurate point to have a good phasing, hope so. over the net i found people talkng about hot rod cams installation guide made specifically for 2010, but i can't find them, i only founded the ford racing popular guide, which says is for 2005-2010, but seems it's for 2005-2009... unfortunately...
