Strut Boots and Bump Stops

Strut Boots and Bump Stops
Ok, I have an 07 GT with 85K miles. This is a daily driver. I picked up a set of 2013 Front Struts and upper mounts (New Take Off) from Roush on ebay for $50. They sell them as an "upgrade" for the 05-10. They didn't come with boots/bump stops and I have read that my 07 Boots will not fit over the larger 2013 piston shafts. My questions are:
1) Are bump stops standard on OEM front struts? Are the necessary with OEM coilover springs?
2) I purchased Energy Suspension universal boots to zip tie in place. Good idea? Are they really necessary?
3) Any thoughts on drilling out the OEM boot opening for the larger shafts?
Thanks!

bump stops are on the car not on the strut so you dont HAVE to change them but they get worn out and you probably should replace them with better ones at 85k
the boots are just dust protectors from what I know so you shoud just be good with the energy ones they always make good ****

If you have a S197, pick up the new take off 2013 struts from Roush for $50 and they through in new upper mounts (my old bearings were shot).
