Default Best Way to make 500 to the wheels with a 4.6

Hey guys Ive been building a parts list for my pony with the main goal of hitting at least 500hp to the rear wheels. I was wondering what you guys think is the best route to reach this goal? So far my motor is stock ive been putting money into suspension and tires, now its time to hit the power aspect.
Of course one of the biggest ways to make power is forced induction, which will be the last thing im going to buy. This has been one of the hardest decisions to make, and ive been in a debate between turbo or supercharging and i cant seem to make up my mind. All im looking for is some input maybe give me some new inspiration on my build list. Thanks for your time guys

Ok here are the facts. 500rwhp and less you don't need to forge your motor you can get that for as little as $3500 with PD blower and the DOB kit. 500rwhp+ will cost you $15000+ so you might as well go for 650RWHP. There really is no practical in between.

450 RWHP is about the lower limit to begin considering forged internals. A $3500 blower won't get you to 500.

My recipe for 500 rwhp was a whipple ho, 13psi pulley, aluminum driveshaft and off-road x-pipe. The rest of my mods don't really affect rwhp. A quality tune was also needed.

I doubt a 3,500 blower will get you to 500... If that were the case I would have did that instead of my rims and tires, lol

The easiest way for 500RWHP is the FRPP H.O. whipple kit. The tune that comes with it should net you about 470-480 to the rear. Not close enough? You can make up the difference by either a set of good long tubes like Kooks or ARH (bypass the cheap sh*t because that's what is it is sh*t) or you can modify the intake with a bigger intake tube or TB, but either 3 choices will require a custom tune. As for forged internals, at this power level they are not required however I'd make sure you always get quality fuel and if custom tuned a tune that's a little fat would be recommended.

I would agree with ^^^^ guy, and throw a KB into the mix too. The twin screws get it done.

Yeah it would more than likely cost you more trying to stay all motor than just getting some type of forced induction. I've seen the smaller pro charger on a stock 3v make 430 rwhp and same setup but with a vortec make 470rwhp. Start savin man lol. With just the few things I've done, I'm making 333rwhp/332torque if that gives you an idea what basic bolt ons will do.

I beg to differ.

There are several cars with the DOB set-up and some are a hair over 500.

I am going to be adding the DOB set-up within the next few weeks, just waiting for the next batch of manifolds to be finished. It's possible to get 500 hp out of it, but you are working on borrowed time, some of the guys de-tune the setup just to keep the engine out of the danger area. 500 hp with these cars is expensive because it will inevitably require boost/forged internals to get there.
