Power Gains From Exhaust Only - Dyno Results
#21
The only parts installed right now are the gears and the full exhaust. There is a modified stock tune (modified part is that the rear O2's are turned off and speedo corrected for gear and tire/wheel change). It is by no means custom or a performance tune.

So 13 hp from headers & full exhaust with no tune...not bad! I feel better about my headers now (not that I didn't before- I could definitely feel how much stronger it was).
BTW, wasn't it agreed that the MAC's did the best in that 5.0 Mustang header shootout because they were the only ones in the test with 1 3/4" primaries? I did a search awhile back and the only headers you can get with 1 3/4" primaries are MAC, Pacesetter, Dynatech, and one of the variations of the Kooks headers. Everyone else has 1 5/8".

Yeah the Macs came out on top because of size and tuned length. Equal length longtubes do not smooth out exhaust pulses so there will be a time when the "scavenge" effect is not at optimum efficiency. Not sure about the shorties. I know the shorties on my v6 helped mid and top rpm range. I would not expect them to add the same as longtubes but better than stock, sure.
