Default Not sure what to make of this...

Maybe its just me, maybe not...

My previous car was an 02 Subaru WRX that was heavily modified and laid down 400+WHP.

It seems as though my 08 GT throttle response isn't very responsive. At least on the bottom end of every gear. Once I hit 3,500 rpm+ it picks up and goes quick. Car has a K&N FIPK Intake and Flowmaster 40 Series exhaust for engine mods. I have no way of knowing if the car was tuned or not. ( I just recently bought the car ) Has 82K on it.

No clutch slippage that I can feel.

Any thoughts? (I tried searching the boards and didn't come across anything similar)

Maybe I am just used to high power vehicles and expect too much?

Well a 400 hp car is gonna make your roughly 265 how car feel less responsive. When I first bought my 07 new I was unimpressed with the power. CAI and tune helped tremendously. I've driven the newer mustangs and I think they are less responsive but my car has been built for power.

I'd also go with getting a custom tune to go with that CAI. Besides the additional RWHP, a good custom tune will improve your throttle response issues.

Bama would be my #1 choice followed on their hot lil' heels by Brenspeed. I've been running Brenspeed tunes since '07.

Yeah, the tune will definitely wake the throttle response up. It will make it "feel" like it should have from the factory....

Bama has the tunes for life program - as you mod, they will rewrite your tunes for you. Each new mod generally requires a revision to the tune. You can't turn a wrench on these cars without a tune for the most part.

Seems like I am reading a lot of that here.
Everytime you add mods, you need to retune.

How does the BAMA system work? Is it a handheld device? Or do I need to send them the actual ECU?
Most of my tuning knowledge is based on reflashing or just going standalone.

Disregard that last reply.

I poked around the American Muscle site and just answered my own question. Wow!
Seems like modding these cars is so much cheaper and nets better gains!

Loving it!

What gears do you have? If you have 3.31, your car will be a slug until around 3500. I went from that to 4.10 and that effect was minimized. I think that's the VCT working. You gotta scream out "VCT, **** that was fast!" to make it work better.

I went from Brenspeed to Bama only due to where I bought my headers from and both are awesome. You'll learn quickly why the Mustang is one of the easiest to modify cars in the world. The aftermarket is ridiculous and parts are fairly cheap.
