Help! Need recommendations!
Hello,
I am new to this forum. I recently bought a 2005 Mustang GT premium 4.6l V8!
I am looking for any information/tips or general ideas on what would be some nice first and affordable upgrades. I am looking into a CAI, tune and exhaust or other necessities i should look into! I do not know very much about cars, but i would like to learn! Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Use the forum search engine. You'll find a lot of info on the CAI &tune combo. It's one of the best first mods. But performance will vary depending on who writes the tune so check American Muscle and Brenspeed for the better tunes that are available. Other than an O/R x-pipe and/or LT headers, any exhaust work downstream of the stock H-pipe only yields sound improvement; NO performance gains.

CAI, Exhaust and Tune definitely!
From there, I would look into suspension upgrades and some wheels.
I just recently re-joined the mustang world myself and so far I am very happy with the mods I have done. I used to have an 04 GT. Just recently picked up an 08 GT Premium for a steal.

This is VERY opinionated.
Not a good idea to name specifics as advice for performance mods based on taste and not performance difference...and to do so without even saying it's just your taste on specific brands, is unwise, unthoughtful, and misleading.
Brenspeed and Bama both offer great tunes.
I have dealt with both.
I did go through a problem with a Bama tune I had, and others I know have too.
I've NEVER had a problem with a Brenspeed tune, and I've had a number of ordered tunes as I've continued modding over the years, and I've had a custom dyno tune from them too.
Nothing against Bama tunes. They and Brenspeed are the top tuners, but like I said I prefer Brenspeed.
Steeda CAI? Really?
ALL CAI's are really the same. The difference in power gain comes from the tune.
MAC exhaust? Pure opinion.
Exhaust company difference comes to opinion and taste in what you like for sound.

Exhaust is NOT going to give you any more power or ummph.
No matter what someone might say here.
It is for sound ONLY!
The only exhaust that will net power is if you get long tube headers.
For performance start with CAI, tune, then gear ratio upgrade.
Those will put a smile on your face when finished.
ESPECIALLY if you get the gear swap done.
I'd go strait for 4.10 gears
If you go 3.73 you may be thirsting for more.

Be careful of what advice you take.
Especially when specific brands are named without any reason or backup statements to tell why a certain brand was named, and what makes them better.
Usually this means it's just a fanboy promoting his brand, or a company pushing a brand they sell.
Also, it's usually a good idea to take advice from members here who have been here for a long time.
The longer we've been here, odds are...the more we have learned.
No offense to the new guys, just be cautious in taking advice from new members.
Feel free to private message me if you need any help!
