Default Seemed like a misfire and check engine light.

On the way home from work today, the car seemed to misfire several times, almost felt like a stall and the check engine light popped on. I nursed it home and once parked I revved it up and it almost seemed like a rev limiter at around 3K RPMs. This repeated several times. I shut it down and waited just a bit. Fired it back up and tried the skinny pedal again and this time it had no problems hitting 5K and the check light went back out. Anyone ever have this and any sugustions??? I am thinking maybe some bad fuel or something... Gonna try and have the codes pulled in the AM, just a little concerned.

Not enough info to really help. Is your car stock? Do you have a tune? Auto or manual? Under what conditions did the engine light come on, were you driving hard? Normal acceleration? What gear? What fuel?

Sound like the code was related to a torque issue and put you in a failsafe mode, and turning on/off the car cleared it. This can happen with a custom tune, and can also be triggered from poor gas with a marginally-close tune.

Car is a stock manual with no tune or anything extra. I was in snow falling down, taking it easy due to the weather. It was strange, I think it was a combo of things that made it go stupid. I drove to work (40 Miles), back home and back to work again today. Everything is running fine now. It must have been one of those freak things is all I can think of.

I've had erroneous CEL's pop up on another vehicle that I suspected was weather related but not on either of our Stangs (but my Stang isn't my DD, either. My wife's Stang is). I was in Raleigh during this past storm. You guyz can't drive AND need to run better rubber! LOL!
