FRPP's got quiet as stock!
05 Roush Stage 1 K&N intake, deleted cats, X-pipe, FRPP's
Picked up a set of FRPP's from Craiglist for $150 that came off an 08 GT. Since the Roush works with the offset square tip setup I had to cut the tips off the FRPP's and take to a local muffler shop to have the square tips welded on. Decided to go ahead and cut the tips off, install them, and see if I liked the sound. Damn were they loud! The sound was bouncing off the walls of the garage and I could feel it in my chest. So, I left them on and figured I would get to the muffler shop within a couple days. The sounded great driving around, but got ALOT of drone on the inside, you couldn't even talk while driving......which was fine by me What I didn't realize was that doing a little WOT on some back roads would blow out the rear of the body kit, ouch! Got back home and it was flapping in the wind. Reattached best I could. It's needs to be replaced from a prior hit and run, so not a huge deal. I also threw codes P1035 & P1075, of which I cleared. Since the force blew off the body kit I installed small pieces of down turn so the exhaust isn't shooting straight at the bumper. I threw the codes again, but they cleared themselves after a day. What I noticed was right before I installed the turn downs it was quieter than when first installed, now about a month later they sound the same as the stock Roush mufflers. I'm going to get under her and see if I can find any leaks (bottomed out twice) but beyond that I'm not sure what to look for. Anybody think of a reason this would happen?

When did you gut the cats?
Your P1035 code is related to the O2 sensor not heating to operating temp
1075 indicates a rich condition.
If you are running gutted cats and still have your rear O2's turned on, I am surprised you haven't thrown these codes until now. My guess is that you have burned up a sensor and your engine is running rich to protect itself from an unknown operating condition.

I deleted the cats probably 6 months ago. Put the X pipe on at the same time. You are suggesting I turn off the sensors, does this mean disconnect or is there another way? And if I do this will the CEL stay on all the time?

Don't have a tuner, but I can run over to UPR Products today and pick up the Diablosport Tuner. I have heard horror stories about people trying to use those themselves. Hopefully I won't have any issues.

I've been around for a while and never heard of issues with Diablo tuners. Heard many horror stories about SCT software updates turning cars in to bricks. I would say give it a shot and mention that you are a Mustang Forums member and see if they will give a discount.
