Default PICTURE 05 GT Won't start after I ran it out of fuel yesterday and then towed a boat.

This sounds a bit crazy but I used my Mustang to tow a boat. And I'm not talking about a small boat. This dude is a 22 foot Angler walk around with a full tank of fuel.

I was down to about an eight of a tank when i started and the additional tongue weight moved that fuel around. So shortly after I started to tow the boat the car felt like it was running on 2 holes. I pulled into a gas station and took on fuel. Problem solved.

The Mustang towed this thing surprisingly well. Even pulled it up a steep wet ramp. But when i went to start it today it would turn over but would not start.

I'm thinking fuel pump. Is there a reset button? How difficult is is to test and or change in a vert?

A bit of starter fluid and it ran. So it's definitely a fuel issue. Anyone know the location of the fuel pump Inertia Switch? It's possible that the trailer triggered it.

The switch is behind the panel on the driver side footwell. I can't remember if you can see the button without removing the panel though.

Thanks, the answer is YES you can do this one with no tools.

Unfortunately this is not my problem.

This leads me to believe that the fuel pump has indeed gone south.

So can I buy the small cheaper replacement pump or will I need to buy the entire fuel pump assembly?
