TB choices?

TB choices?
Ok, so if anyone has followed any of my other threads, I have been having some rather disturbing issues. I've tracked it down to either TB Electric motor or the PCM having issues. So, that being said, I am going to replace the TB first.
Ford OEM is 55mm dual bore. Ford wants $471, AM wants $190 ish
AM also sells the GMS 62mm Dual Bore for $375
or the GT500 (60mm) with conversion plate for $319
Car is Whipple 2.3L S/C, Mac Prochamber and Pypes Violators. I'll get getting LTs within the next 4-6 month (gotta pay for the wedding first)
So basically the question is, GT500 FRPP/OEM or the GMS TB? Pros/Cons to each?

Don't do anything other than Ford. I did the FR 62mm dual bore and it was good. I had a code thrown once that I think was related to it that put it into limp mode, but after clearing it, nothing else.
However it sounds like you are trying to save some money, of the ones listed I'd say go with the gt500 w/conversion plate. I do happen to have the oem GT throttle body that I polished the inner bores on that I could let go of...
but the pros/cons, the oem ford stuff uses the nylon gears that (supposedly) don't bind as opposed to brass/bronze gears or a throttle body where you have to swap over the gears from your existing throttle body.

The GMS is pre-assembled, not sure if they use nylon or what as the gears. I immediately dismissed the idea of the BBK ones b/c of the problems, and the $600 FRPP 62mm polished one is outa my price range, I can go about $400 right now

So I ended up ordering one from AM, the GT500 TB w/ adaptor plate, as several have recommended OEM is the way to go, and I am hoping to get better airflow with 60mm over the 55mm DB. Thanks folks

Oh man, that's right, that whipple elbow is a full 180°.
Is it just the electrical connector on the passenger side of the TB that is an issue? I think I have heard that someone whittled away some of the plastic on the engine harness side connector to get it to fit, but I can't recall what forum that was on.

I ended up getting a full return with shipping paid from AM. Since it doesn't fit and it wasn't listed on their site they took the blame for it. Good on em!
I also ordered the FRPP 62mm since it's a direct fit replacement.... I will fix this problem... I am more and more pinpointing it as bad TB electronic motor from the symptoms... The wires have all be respliced with solder joints... so it's not grounding out.. and now it only drops the Fan #2 CKT Check, EVAP CKT Check, Throttle actuator forced engine shutdown and throttle position a/b mismatch codes
