New Xcal4, Switching device procedure?
Hey Guys,
I just purchased an Xcal 4 that has my Cam tune on it.
The car currently has a tune on it that was uploaded from my old Xcal 2.
Can i upload my new Cam tune from the Xcal 4 immediately or should i put the stock tune back on with the Xcal 2, and then upload the Cam tune from the Xcal 4?

I don't know how an Xcal 4 works but you may need to put it back to stock with the Xcal 2 prior to using the Xcal 4. That way you free the Xcal 2 from being married to your car and you get the stock tune into the Xcal 4.
When I was using an Xcal 2, the display on the tuner went bad and SCT replaced it an lost my stock tune. When I tried loading a tune, the Xcal 2 recognized that it wasn't the stock tune in the car and wouldn't load a tune. I wound up having to take it to a local speed shop to have it flashed back to stock for a $150.

If you don't care about a stock tune you can just hook up the X4 and it will read your current tune as the stock tune. I will never return my car to stock and it wasn't worth messing with my old X2 so I did just that, with my new X4.
