Hello all.

I have been trying to justify buying an intake for my 2010 GT but everything I can read says to not waste your money. I already plan on buying a tuner, and JLT is just done the road from be for the intake.

What should I do?

Are you talking a CAI or an intake manifold? If CAI, get a CAI and tuner at the same time with a tune from a reputable tuning shop like Brenspeed, Bama, etc.; and no, it wont be a waste of money

Yes, CAI. Sorry for not clarifying.

Yep, CAI and Tune, not a waste! A mod that'll definitely give you happy feet!

An intake and a tune are a great way to spend your money.

Do NOT get an intake that says "no tune required". Then you WILL be wasting your money. The tune is the key!

Unlike the '05-'09 models where you'd see a 16-18rwhp gain from a JLT CAI & tune, the gain on a '10 model will be more like 8-9rwhp 'cause that model already had a higher-flowing stock intake.
It's up to you to decide if it's worth the money but given that the SCT tuner will come in handy if you add more mods (and you can use it as a code scanner), I'd say go for it.
The next mod I'd recommend is a Barton shifter.

The tuner is happening regardless.

Hey Spicy,

You have some great responses in here already and everyone pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Since you are already getting the tune (great choice) you will definitely notice an increase in power with a *tune required* intake.

I would recommend the JLT Series 3 Cold Air Intake personally.

It installs easily, looks great, and makes awesome power!

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

Definitely a CAI & custom tune. But beware that Ford had tweaked your stock tune by about 10-12 RWHP over the 05-09 stock tune. Since the 05-09's typically gain about 20-25 RWHP with a CAI & tune and since your '10 is already roughly half way there, a CAI & custom tune on your '10 won't feel as "awesome" as it would on an 05 thru 09. But still, you should see roughly an additional 13-15 RWHP in addition to the enhanced driveability; nothing to sneeze at.

Stopped by JLT today and picked up my intake and tuner package. Awesome deal. Installed and loving it.
