You can get them out without pulling motor mounts PB blaster will be your friend. I swapped mine for BBK shorties without pulling the mounts. It can be done just have to be patient and work from top and bottom to get them out. I did it on stands so it was hard to support the engine and pull them with the clearance I had. Just take your time and be careful because the heads are aluminum and you can pull the threads out if not careful. If your really worried id let it soak in PB for a few hours then try to get them out. Id go for trying to get the whole stud in one go its got a small head on them at the very end 8mm if i recall correctly I used a ratcheting wrench to limit torque and made life much easier in the cramped space. You can pick up a set at harbor freight fairly cheap.

Curious, why are you removing the manifold?

Definitely soak everything with PB Blaster overnight, or for a full day if possible. Some of the studs may come out with the nuts. If you're not removing the studs, it shouldn't be too hard to do.

You don't have to pull the motor mount, but it makes it WAY easier if you do. Pull the mount and the stand off of the engine and jack it up an inch or two. You'll have all kinds of room for not much effort.
