Electrical Issues and Power Steering Loss???
Okay so 2006 S197 GT. A couple times while making a left turn my engine shut down and I lost power steering, today I was pulling onto the highway from the shoulder and my acceleration was "jerky" very on and off (If you've ever punched it with cruise control on, you know this feeling, also slightly left turn from right shoulder) I did some research and though it was power steering related, fluid was low, but above min, I'm gonna top it off tomorrow, but (PLEASE AVOID BIAS) I installed an oversized battery and the red cover on the positive terminal had a small burn through and where the hood would touch (it touches with the oversized battery) had a small paint spot missing (exposed aluminum), and there is some visible melt on the red plastic. I'm thinking the battery is my issue, but when the car shuts down I COMPLETELY lose power steering until I restart the car, not intermittent, just gone. Could this be battery short related too? No CEL and the car JUST passed inspection today LOL. Oh BTW serpentine belt has tension so I don't think that's related and the electrical tape I stuck to the hole on the battery cover, under the hood, already looks like it has an indent from the 1 time I closed the hood. The only thing that is really throwing me off is the power steering loss, becuase I dunno if a short would kill that. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone is looking to buy a 2006 S197..... :P

Ruled out battery short.
Well, it wasn't the battery shorting, because I filed that and it still happened a few times. I used my SCT Tuner and increased my drive idle from 600 to 750, this has been working so far, probably have a dirty injector or failing spark plug but so far the idle increase has been working. If not, I'll post an update if anyone needs this info.
