Latest/Greatest Solutions for 2nd to 3rd Missed Shifts
I did the search on the hard/missed shifts in our cars, most pronounced by the 2nd to 3rd shift.
I have an '07 Shelby GT, which came from Shelby with the Hurst shifter as part of the Shelby GT package. I bought it new and it's my DD.
I have experienced the shifting issues from the very beginning. Now, it's to a point (I know, it's been 9 years, already) that I'd like to fix it.
The search I did seemed to suggest that the "best" solution is to change the motor mounts to stiffer ones. It'll keep everything aligned and the shifting will be better. However, the posts were a few years old.
Is that approach still the best way to tackle this problem?
Many thanks in advance for any and all help and advice!!

the motor mounts will definitely help, they will also add slight NVH but nothing terrible. invest in a MGW/Barton short throw shifter, install and kick self in rear for not doing it 9 years ago. good luck

MGW definitely. I have no experience with the Barton. But to this day I think it was one of my wiser purchases. It's a totally different car once you install an MGW. Hurst is just banking on the name. Nothing can touch an MGW. Mine's installed in an '07 GT and it has worked flawlessly since 2008 in a car used as a daily driver/drag car/road racer.
