Default Ford Racing Power Pack

Hi,

I'm interested in getting the Ford Racing Power Pack for my '06 Mustang GT S197, but it seems that it is out of stock everywhere I asked. Example: http://www.americanmuscle.com/fordra...ck-0509gt.html

The reason why I want this pack is because it has CARB EO # D-598-4 (I live in California). I could not find other packs where all parts are certified.

There's a lot of shops that now sell the parts separately and have the parts available. Cold air intake/tune (M-9603-GTB), muffler set (M-5230-S) and oil filter (CM-6731-FL820).

But only the cold air intake + tune (M-9603-GTB) show the CARB EO # and it actually is a different EO # (D-598-2) with just the intake/tune.

Does anyone have this pack and/or can answer a couple of questions?
- Was there a document with the pack that mentions the actual parts included in the EO?
- Does the muffler have an EO # on it?
- Does the muffler even require an EO #? Will I have a smogging/noise problem with getting the mufflers?

Thanks.

Mufflers do not require a CARB EO. You can basically change anything in the exaust behind the rear O2 sensors which is just downstream of the cats. oil filter is a consumable and does not require a CARB EO. Intake does require a CARB EO. The tune... if all sensors are reading in normal ranges, they can't tell if a tune is loaded on a 2006.

Thanks! I think it depends on the noise only. I actually ordered the Bullit Mufflers which seem to be 50 state legal in terms of noise. I also don't like my car to be too loud, so that's okay.

So I checked on just the air intake kit. It's discontinued by Ford, as well. Now looking for a 50 state legal cold air intake (with tune!), but can't find no other than the Ford Racing Pack. Any ideas?

If you can't find a 50 state legal CAI anywhere, you could improve your stock system by cutting away the base of the airbox and inserting a K&N flat panel filter.

I wouldn't worry so much about getting a CARB number for the tune portion, You can always ask for an emissions tune which you can put on your car a week before going for a smog test, or leave on it all the time.
Here's an available intake that has a CARB EO: http://www.stage3motorsports.com/173...ir-Intake.html

Thanks guys, that's good information.

I think I will get this intake http://www.americanmuscle.com/cnl-cai-0509gt.html in combination with a 91 octane tune using the bama X4 flash tuner.

Cheers!
