Hey all,

first time forum poster here. I've been experiencing significant acceleration issues for quite a while now, and am not sure what to do with it. Car will accelerate with minimal pressure on the pedal, but as soon as I put it closer to the floor, the car revs quickly to 6k rpms and stays there, even during shift change. If I keep the pedal closer to 1/2 pressed down, RPM will still skyrocket, but will then drop back to 2-3k and i'll feel acceleration pick back up. So far I've tried cleaning the spark plugs, MAF, and throttle body. When that didn't work, I swapped the spark plugs out. It has a BBK CAI, Kooks long tube headers, and flowmaster exhaust with cat delete (bought it that way). No tune currently. Check engine light is not on. Trying to work on this myself both as a way to learn as well as keep the cost down, because I'm poor as hell haha. Any insight to this is appreciated!

trans or clutch slipping is a possibility

shifter occasionally pops out of 4th gear. I also hear a ticking noise during idle, which goes away when I press in the clutch. Figured these were unrelated events. Still trying to figure out all of this stuff haha. thanks for the reply jwogg66
