Best Axle or Catback exhaust for Pypes O/R Xpipe
Hey everyone, it has been a long time since I have posted but I had a question. I had a friend throw on a Pypes O/R x-pipe about week ago on his 08 GT and paired it with his SLP LM1's it literally sounds terrible. At about 2800-4000 RPM's it sounds like a band of trumpets are just playing full blast. I double checked all the connections and clamps, there are no exhaust leaks or loose heat shields or anything of that nature. I've heard plenty of O/R x-pipe setups and never heard anything quite like this. I love the raspy sound, but this isn't just raspy, this is obnoxious, like old farm truck obnoxious. My question is, what Cat or Axleback exhaust seems to tone out that trumpet noise the most? He doesn't want to get cats welded on at this point and I figure about anything with a muffler should help, but I don't want to recommend anything and it not help the issue. Any advice would be much appreciated. I've been watching clips on Youtube and so far I am leaning toward a Pypes Mid-Muffler Catback system, just to stick with the Pypes setup, but I just want to hear from other people in the community. Once again thank you for your time.
