Default methanol injection on n/a motor

Hi,

Someone at the track recommended adding a methanol injection system to the car as a way to keep the engine cool longer. I'm not necessarily looking for more power but I figured if it keeps the charge cooler and (I think) raises octane it must also increase power (so long as the car is tuned for the higher octane. The question is, if I add one just to cool charge would I have to have the car tuned again? If so how does a methanol tune work when I'm not using it? Does it make any sense adding one to a n/a engine? I know on turbos and superchargers they make a huge difference but not so sure about n/a.
