ok i love the sound of the imco exhaust and i really want it. can someone tell me how much it is and where i can order from???? i just picked up an h pype and i wanna get my axle backs already so i can piss of the neighborhood.
Is it money well spent to purchase a x-pipe with high flow cats? I have a Bassani axle back system on my 05 GT right now but want it louder. I have heard that the x-pipe with high flow cats will make it louder. If so, what brand do ya'll recomend? I was looking at the BBK. Are there any other companies that sell them? Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
When I added Bassani catted-X to my existing FRPP Stingers, it added quite a bit of volume and rawness. I loved it. Except for the drone. Those are high-flow cats and I'm sure they're responsible for the increase in volume. O/R (no cats) would be even louder.
But for a daily driver, I would not have wanted it any louder.
ok so im about to get an 06 gt, i am planning on putting bbk long tube headers with their off road x pipe, any advice on a muffler to go with that? and has anyone used the bbk header and xpipe? an wat you think of it?
I bought a '05 GT last Xmas and had a Vortech supercharger installed at the same time with a Diablo Predator supercharger tune. After a lot of reading and listening to sound clips, I went to my local welding/muffler shop. This guy started out on dirt ovals then paved ovals then drag racing going back about 20 years. He told me that the '05 GT exhaust system was as clean and smooth stock as a custom axleback system. With the supercharger he recommended Magnaflow mufflers in place of the stock GT's, and installed them for $311. Upon a quick drive-about afterward, I "felt" some added hp, maybe 10-15hp. The most noticeable thing, per the supercharger, since it was already running full time; the flow through the Magnaflow mufflers gave a more immediate response and the GT wanted to launch with the lightest touch on the pedal. The idle and low speed sound was throaty and deep, very nice, but did not get louder until you punched it and the exhaust screamed. No sustained speed "drone" either. I'm going to get another tune on the same tuner but on the dynamometer for whp.
I am thinking about installing some shorty headers on my 05 GT. Has anyone tried to install these themselves? If so, how dificult is it? Would it be worth it to take it to a shop and have them do it or is this something that I could do in my driveway?
I just installed some Slp loudmouths and completely love em. great throaty sound and quiet when you want them to be. Oh and Steve O Chap i like your car.
Just had these installed about a week ago - absolutely love the sound. Much louder and deeper than factory exahaust. If you don't mind spending the extra money for these - they sound great.
