I just got my new (well new to me) fenders and front bumper cover.

Question is: Any special way to paint the bumper cover? I wasnt sure because its plastic Or do I just do it like any other way?

It takes special paint for the bumper. Let me explain. From what I have learned from body shop friend it takes a "flex agent" in the paint so it will flex when twisted, bumped etc. He get it mixed with his paint. Maybe available in spray car or not have no idea. I have touched up the black strips with semigloss black plastic paint. Does well.

I've read about the flex agent for bumpers. I dont know if it comes in the can or what.

BUT-I did read on this website you can just paint it like you would metal.

I have a question similar to this. I am looking to get a new bumper/fender. What is the best way to strip that paint? Sandpaper? What toughness?

Default Painting Plastic

I know this is probably too late but if your going base-clear coat, the flex additive goes in the clear. Thats how I painted mine.

You can buy flexible coating bumper paint in a spray can. SEM makes it and they're a quality paint manufacturer. Look in the yellow pages and find an automotive paint supply store. They should have it. It runs around $10 per can. Comes in all colors. Unless your doing a color change, 1 can should do it.
