RE: Project "Frankenstang" 56 K warning.
I think will look good. I modified the "fiberglass" front inner bumper for the turn signals. The 86 uses a steel inner bumper. It is already heavy enough. This will save a few pounds. When get it all fiqured out will post pictures. Also if there is a picture of the 4.0 ohc oil pan area and dimension either for the newer mustang or explorer send me a link or something. Decision will be made soon. Wish to put motor in and get running. Before modifing the dash to 86 style. I want to do one nightmare at a time.

A little more work. Change the door hinge bushings what a job. Also modified the 93 inner bumper fiberglass support so can use the 86 turnsignals. The oem 86 one is a heavy metal piece and mounts a little differant. Rather have the lighter one. Need to make brackets to hold turnsignals into rear of the support but no problem there.

For the outside look need bumper assmebly. the steel inner bumpber unless do like me which I think was better. Pigtail of wiring for lights, both fenders, maybe fender liners unsure of this mine was missing so could not compare. Hood. All moulding done side. Need piano wire or sharp putty knife to remove from door and front quarter panels. Do not pull off or will be bent and useless. Rear quarters are nutted on. Mouldings are differant. Also need rear bumper cover. Can reuse inner bumper near as can tell now same. You can see from lpictures of modification of front inner bumper. Will post pictures of the turn signal mounts when I build them. Will post wiring info when I do it. Unsure now but I think I will use 2 relays to headlights. I pretty sure going to halagen or some brighter bulbs when done. Don't want burn up wiring or switch. More pictures here. http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w...20converiable/All details of the build will be there. So can check it see how things are going. Checking on a supercoupe motor next week. Wish me luck. Maurice

Ok decision made. Was going for 3.8 couldn't find one at reasonable price. 4.2 has had cam problem per mechanic. No Supercoupe. So back to first choice when I thought about this project. SHO motor A4LD with 3.0 bellhousing. So since v-6 don't belong here. So what to do. Have a post started in the 6 cylinder section. I guess if they will tolerate a oddball combination I guess will continue there. Thanks all. Picture of motor bought. Done hear it run in car. Sweet. I am going to remove so I know where wiring and hoses etc go.
