Default Wooo! Back in business!

I am so bloody excited.

Just got my 'stang's tranny fixed. If anybody remembers, I was having troubles that it wouldn't manually shift from 1-2, if I shifted to D below 30, it would drop to 1 again, and the 3-4 shift was very late and harsh (about 45mph).

Turns out, it was just a chewed up (aluminum) modulator valve. The teacher in the drivetrain class pulled it out, and put in a steel one he had in his box. Cost me a total of $20 in a new gasket and fluid. He put it back together, and all was good. Well, it slipped a bit in the 2-3 shift, but Lucas Tranny fix took care of that.

So now, I am once more driving my mustang!

Woot!

It always feels good gettin' the car back on the road after some down time. Happy motoring!

Make sure to put a transmission cooler on it to keep it alive

Yes, heat is the biggest killer of auto transmissions.

IDK what I fried in mine but I'm going to say I killed the 2nd gear clutch, 3rd gear clutch, 4th gear clutch, and probably killed the bearings in mine

Is it really much of something to worry about if you're not at all an aggressive driver?

I would really consider putting one on if you live in a hotter climate/high humidity. I found a write up on how to include a thermostat/in-line filter in the process if you want it.
