You wont need a forged crank till you start hitting over 1000HP+

Also 4:56 gears are going to hurt your 1/4 mile times, the turbo cars like 3.55 or 3.73 at most.

Check out turboford.net.

Also boring it out .060 isn't going to gain you much either, just weaken the block...

The less you take out the better for strength.

The SVO block has held 800+hp with the stock crank, sportsman rods and some good forged pistons

I took it to .040 about 3 yrs. ago, put it together and then about 3 months later it started ticking from the bottom end so I revved it and then I heard a thunk, I didn't know what it was. So last night I finally decided to figure out what went wrong. I'll post the pics in a few min. to show ya'll

hmm.. this rods are much weaker the turbo rods from what i understand, the stock turbo cranks take a beating pretty well, there are guys runing 10's and 9s on stock cranks and there is one guys runing 8's on a stock 2.5 crank. the stock internals should handle teh 400 hp your looking for, im runing stock internals right now and make about 340 at the flywheel. next year i plan on making 400 at the flywheel with the same internals, any higher then that and id want to upgrade my rods and pistons.

non turbo and turbo rods are the same. cranks also. just get a new block, you could find one in good shape at a normal bore for less than the machine work to "fix" an old pos block by going .060 over. if you aren't skeered to make your own oil lines, you could get a non turbo block for little to no money.
