A mech told me today the pinion was worn out in it i looked in the chilton maual when i got home didnt see a pinion in the rear end and why would that make it ride rough.
A pinion transfers motion into the axle from the drive shaft. If it's worn out it will cause a clunk if the car accelerates hard or it could make sound at speed

When I had my first car (88 4banger) it would bottom out like you're talking about. Im sure it was because of the massive stereo I had in it (2 jlaudio w6 18's, PPI 1800w amp ). Im so sure because it didnt start until after I installed it, lol. A quick fix that worked for me was some spring spacers that I bought from advance auto parts. They were just wrenched in between the coils of the springs. Worked for me all the way until I sold the car.
