Default Just bought my 1993 2.3 convertible and many issues .. please help.

Ok .. first of all, i don't know anything about mustangs other than the fact that I love the way they look.. i just bought a 1993 convetiblefor $1700 with only 71K miles on it .. but of course it is coming with some problems that i did not know when i bought it .

First of all i get a code 12 for the airbag. I see many referrances to this code (lost of power) but no where i can find info on how to fix it! any ideas?

Second and the more important issue. when u first turn the car on, it starts smoking white smoke for a few min but than it goes away .. i researched and i see some possible causes and i think a bad head gasket is the worst case scenario here? Is that correct? if not what is the worst case scenario and how much to fix?

If I have to, How much to buy and install a new engine?

Thanks.

code 12
to fix either replace the air bag wiring (or inspect to make sure it's fine and connections are good) or the air bag needs to be replaced.

white smoke
Get a compression test, is there coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant? is coolant disapearing? etc

Worst case... the cylinder wall is cracked or the head is cracked.

How hard is it to replace an engine? Depends on how mechanical yo are
