Default White film in 93 Lx Oil Pan

Every time i check my oil level with the dipstick, i always get a white film on it. Its been doing this for about a month. I also checked where it say "engine oil" and i can see little spots of film floating on top. What is this a sign of? I changed the oil a few months ago also..

That is some form of water in the oil.

It might be something as sinister as a cracked water jacket or leaking head gasket, or it could be merely condensation.

How long have your drives been? Has the engine gotten up to peak operating temperature and stayed there long enough to burn off any water? It's actually rather common to have that happening in the winter, especially in cars that don't see any long travel times.

My drives usually are from home to school and that's it. No more than 5 miles a day. It gets very cold in Atlanta in the winter and i dunno if the engine does get to operating temp. What is the operating temp actually?

Operating temp for the 2.3 is around 195-205 degrees or so.

5 miles should be long enough to get it up to temp, maybe not long enough to also get rid of all that condensation. How long does it take for your heater to blow hot?

Drain the oil and put in fresh. Drive around for a bit and if you have it there still, do a compression test and if that passes, pressure test the cooling system.

Sounds like a HG or a cracked head but you can't tell without testing it

I dunno if the temp gauge is broken or not but it never gets to 195-205 degrees. My heater is broken but it starts feeling warm after 10 minutes of driving.

With the heater taking that long to blow hot... I might say that after getting an oil change done, replace the thermostat.

If you know what you're doing, you'll spend less than 10 dollars.
