Hi,

What do you mean by "it doesnt stay idleing"?. Does it idle then die, idle really high or idle really low?

I would start off by looking at the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) located on the Throttle Body. Make sure its not all gummed up with carbon. Its held on by 2 bolts.

As for the PCV Valve, that is located below the lower Intake Manifold near the rear of the engine on my 93. It may be different on an older Mustang.

For the Vacuum Lines, you could start by checking all of them for damage, such as cracks and dry rot. You could even spray some starter fluid on suspect vacuum lines and see if the idle increases.

Hope this helps.

pvc valve isnt going to do it. un metered air can, which is what a huge vacuum leak would do. unless the pvc valve is unhooked, check all rubber hoses running around the motor for cracks and broken ends.
