Default new 92

Hey guys im new to this forum and as my name suggests i have a 1992 lx drop top. I got this car by accident cause i needed a new car and this one was only $1200! with a brand new top still under warrenty. Mechanically its strong but it looks rough so im gonna paint it a deep dark blue. Ok so on to the point it sadly is the slowest car i've ever owned! So im interested on how to make just a little more go without completly destroying the engine. Nothing more in depth than a cam swap. I've searched and ive seen people talk about the ranger header but what year and all that stuff. Also i dont know if its an acuring problem but my tach doesnt work well. it moves but not all the way up like it should. only occasionally. So far the posts on here have been very helpful.
Thanks

Ranger header from a 94-95 2.3 or 2.5 ranger. Looks like a header.

2.25" exhaust, intake, and maybe a bigger cam then you might have 120-125hp.

If you want real power you will have to drop in a 5.0 or a 2.3 turbo

thanks man. I heard that i could possibly find an old racing 2.3 out of a pinto or something? is that possible? I dont know im new to the mustang world. But if the racing engines made power then someone had to build it right? Any input is greatly apreciated.

alot of the pinto's run 2.0's .~ 2.3 's can make power non turbo but it takes money.
mini stock(race motors) make power but are not that streetable.big cams ~high compression~ race gas ect.ect.
