Can the 4 speed srod tranny off an 82 5.0 be used on the 2.3 engine?

It is not a direct bolt on. If you wanted to do that, you would need to find an adapter plate to make the bolt pattern line up.

Stinger Performance makes an adapter plate that will change the bolt pattern of the 2.3 to a small block ford.
