Default 2.3l Won't start

1993 Mustang 2.3l. The car ran fine all day, then stopped. I though I may had run out of gas, kinda what it felt like. We put about 4 gallons in the tank, nothing. It turns over. I can hear the fuel pump come on. We tried starting fluid. All it does is turn over, and a small backfire sometimes. Help?

the other possiblilty is the ignition control module or crank sensor failed. or possibly the coils. have you checked to see if you are getting a good spark from the wires?

Now, I need someone in the dallas are that is familiar with my 2.3 liter transmission. The mechanic that replaced my timing belt told me to check the transmission fluid. I did, it was dry. I put a quart in, then the hose that connects to the radiator came lose. I lost all the fluid. I replaced the fluid, but the transmission slips real bad now. I tightened the clamp and it has held for 2 days now. It still slips. Now I seem to have a coolant leak. I am asking for MERCY here. I love this car. It only has 93,000 on it. I am a delivery driver, no car, no income. I can borrow the $ for parts. For the love of god, can some kind soul help me out here? I can pay for labor, in a few weeks. I have a job, been there almost 3 years. I am not going anywhere. I sure cant afford a car payment. I eed this car fixed, like right now.

you may need to get a new tranny. the first thing to do is to fix the leak then pull the pan on the trans and change the filter and add fluid if that dosen't fix it then it's time to replace it.
