Default gas tank parts...

i dropped the gas tank the other day to put in my new tank, new sending unit, and new walbro 255 hp fuel pump . anyways, there were 4 'things' in the tank, the fuel pump & sending unit (they're attached), the filler neck hole, the ventilation valve in the top, and a mysterious metal top that looks very similar to the sending unit top but i have no idea what it is? anyone know?

well there's a sending unit, and then there's also a similar looking metal top with another electrical connector, but no lines running to it

it was the fuel level sending unit...yayyyy
i took it out of the tank and it was definately the fuel level sensor/sending unit...i thought before that it was built into the main sending unit but it definately is not.
so in case anyone wants to know, the fuel level sending unit is separate from the main sending unit on the tank!
