Default HELP! Tranny Modulator Issues.

I went to replace my transmission modulator for my A4LD, (Holy cow a lot of fluid poured out of that vacuum line.

It seemed to hate me... The bolt was difficult to reach, and when it came time to take my old modulator off, it wouldn't.

I pried, I wiggled, I blasted it with PB blaster, I tried EVERYTHING I could think of, and all that happened was it ripped in half. Now I have a busted modulator half stuck in there. I've given up trying to get it out, as I broke more than one tool in the attempt.

My question is. Is it drivable? Will all my tranny fluid pour out of that hole, or will it just leak out slow enough that I can make it to a nearby garage that can pull the other half out and put the new one in?

Please tell me I don't have to call a tow truck, or risk major mechanical problems...

Lmao...

You could drive it but pull over every now and then and check the fluid level and keep some extra tranny fluid with you.

Just basicallt keep an eye on it.

You could have a friend with a truck tow you with a tow rope if you dont wanna spend alot of money for a tow truck driver.

Hmmm... Try to pry it out with a vice grip, and if that doesn't work, than go to the shop, but keep an eye behind you for fluid puking out

Well... I took it to the shop, and they put the new one in.

Now I've got an even bigger problem.

It won't upshift. The only way I can get through the gears is using the select shift to go from 1-2-D-OD. I put it in either D or OD and it just stays in first...

Any clue?

Make sure they out it in right, and make sure all the vacuum lines to the transmission are hooked up

check your kickdown cable also... similar thing happened in my mark vii.. except the calble came off and would immediatley shift to over drive at 20 mph and wouldn't downshift...

How many vacuum lines go to the tranny, and where.

And forgive me for sounding idiotic, where is the kickdown cable?
