I have had my 93 4 banger notch for about 3 years now. I love the car as its my daily driver. I purchased it rigth after it was brought up here to New England from down south. The car wasnt quite nice enough to make nice again, however it was pretty much rust free. I was changing the oil the other day and the salt did start getting into the car in a few small places, nothing major though, however the transmission support bracket was unusally rotted out on one side.

Is this a common problem? Are they difficult to replace? Where is the best place to get one? I'm assuming if my southern car has a rotted out bracket, that all the ones in the junkyard up here are going to be rotted as well.

It's easy to swap, jack the transmission up, take crossmember out put in the new one.

If it's not through (rust) then I would sand blast it and use epoxy paint

Nice, good to know its not a big job. Its definitely rotted thru, its just weird because the rest of the car really isn't bad at all. Now I just need to locate a solid one...
