so what's the cable that goes from the throttle body down to the trans? it's a braided cable like a bicycle's brake cables.

ok guys. thanks for the help. i've been told it's internal so i'll have to rebuild the trans. my questions is should i have someone rebuild it for me (750 with a shift kit and some other things to beef it up - installed) or should i get a used one from a yard (375), put it in, and then rebuild mine. i ordered an ATSG book to see how hard that would be, but i wanted to find out if you guys think it would be something a trans newbie could do? any ideas on how much i would spend to rebuild it and beef it up? any special tools i would need?

There are special tools that you'll need for the rebuild. If you are going to rebuid it yourself do it this way

i decided to have Eagle Transmissions take a look at it. Hopefully it won't need a complete rebuild and it'll be somewhat inexpensive. while they've got it off, i'm gonna have them put a shift improvement kit on it. what other recommendations would you have them do to beef it up?

Comes on all LX cars, but you'll have to either replace the hatch or drill into yours to get it to fit right
