as u guys may have heard i lowered my car by cutting the springs down. now as u guys know doing so will increase spring rate and cause a stiffer ride quality. well i lowered my car a little over 2 weeks ago and the ride quality of course was rough, now i noticed the other day i was driving it and it started riding like it was stock? im wondering if the springs have settled to the point where the springs have worn down to the point where it seems stock again? i didnt know if u guys could help me out with this? thanks

Chances are you're just getting used to it. How much did you cut. I never seen any real difference in springs till more than a half spring PAST the dead coil.
i cut 2.5" up front and 1.5" in the rear, the thing is too that before the was alot of movement with the front end like goin over little bumps u can see the car kinda roll, kinda like chassis movment or body roll? but now the front stays stable like it did before i lowered it
"now as u guys know doing so will increase spring rate and cause a stiffer ride quality." (Quote 93foxbodylx)
Thats were your wrong, it LOWERS your spring rate, and causes a LOOSER ride quality, thats why ride quailty suffers
wow thats weird i thought it was the other way around, cuz i was told that cutting springs will increase spring rate? hmmm...thanks for the correction tho lol now i feel like an idiot haha o well
will be springs be ok in the meantime? and also what exaclty do u mean they "collapsed"?
The coils were designed to hold a Certian weight, and you took a part of it away. it'll get worse and worse. The Coils will look like they are very close together and when you hit bumps the coils will Hit each other causing the rough ride. (can you tell i work with Honda's?)

Cutting your springs raises spring rate & makes the front stiffer, but you can go too far with it. Heating up the springs to lower ride height will lower spring rate making the car likely to bottom out. Generally people will cut 1/4 of the spring wrap at a time so they don't go too far. As for your car bouncing before, chance are you had bad struts & may still. It's generally not a good idea to cut the springs until you get the height you want because alot of times you'll go too far.
