I guess I'll have to look at it again and get my fingers or something in there to get a better idea of how bad it is. Is it best to try and weld it or just leave it alone? I don't know why my pictures keep showing up so small.

So you are telling me that if the manifold or turbo sits for a while, just sitting, not being used, welded, or heated, it will shrink?

speedjunkie, I sent you a pm.

Wow! That looks like a big chunk is about to fall out! Maybe you should just pass on the turbo all together. You're not in any big hurry so I'm sure you can find another T3 on one of the boards for $100-$150. Too bad 'cause I just sold one a week ago. There's plenty of them out there.

If you want your pics bigger, go to www.photobucket.com and open an account - free. Upload your pics to photobucket, then you can just cut and paste right into the reply box, here.

No it wont. It will be fine (I have 2 turbos and an exhaust manifold sitting on my self right now, same size still and its been a year almost)

Can you get a picture of the wastefate hole? My .63 exhaust housing looks like that. I got my .48 repaired for free when I got my T3 rebuilt a year ago.

Got some more pics of the cracks. There are actually three. One on the top, and one on each side of the wastegate opening. Is the wastegate something that can be opened by hand, or with relatively low resistance? I cannot get this thing to budge.

On average how much does it cost to have the turbo rebuilt? I will probably hold off on the turbo for now, but if the jy gives me a better price, what would be a reasonable price for one in this condition?

The .63 I have has a worse crack then that and it worked fine untill my oil return got plugged.

I got a good rebuild from a place called blaastperformacne here in canada. Nice guy, quick, cheap, and good quality.
