hi guys i have a weird problem ny car has sat for a few months and i went to start it and it wont start. it is getting gas, and i replaced the plugs but still not starting any thoughts?
duhh, fuel has a purge valve on the fuel rail it looks like a tire valve, u poke it while the the car is on the on position and it should skirt up, spark, just take of a wire dat goes to a spark plug and check it
I think the above poster is refering to the Schrader Valve thats located on the fuel rail. The safest way to test for spark is using an Igniter/Spark Tester.

yeah. and even doing that, he won't know if the fuel is getting to the cylinders or not. clogged injectors would be after the schrader valve. i wonder if he tried starter fluid like i suggested.

WHOOOOO watch out for the super genius mechanic!!! F'in smart a$$.
Called covering your bases, as anybody with forum experience would know that.
Anyway back to the problem at hand. Starting fluid would be a good start. The problem is your not getting fuel or spark to the car for 90% of the no start situations. Could be a clogged fuel pump filter, bad fuel pump, bad fpr, bad dampner, bad injectors, clogged injectors. As stated spray some starting fluid, it if starts then dies then it is obviously fuel related. As for spark the TFI could be junk, the PIP could be junk, the dist gear could be missing teeth, or broken. Or the dist shaft could be broken. which was why I asked how he checked getting fuel and spark.
