I should really collect my thoughts and make one post instead of 3 lol. Withe the T3 swap, Am i to assume the computer will recognize the extra boost and adjust accordingly, or do you have to find a way to re-program the computer?

Cool

107,000 miles?! It's just getting broken in! Seal & shine brother........seal & shine!!
Here's a couple of pics of a Garrett T3 turbo. They were produced in the 80's. They came on SVO's, '83-'86 TC's, Merkur XR4ti's and a couple of other early turbo cars. They came in .60/.63 and .60/.48 a/r configurations. The .60 will be cast in the front on the compressor housings and the .63 or .48 will be cast in the back on the turbine housings. Also, the LA3 computer will work perfectly with a T3.

no you put in a boost controller.

The 87-88 TC's had there own boost controller 87 was near the Turbo 88 had then in side the interior i believe.

For a stang your going to have to buy one there are quite a few you can use im going to have to get one for my car.

Your '88 TC has the factory boost controller on the passenger side fenderwell. Use that for now. It limits your boost to a reasonable level. Here's a pic.

Once you get your Mustang running and tuned properly then you can switch to an adjustable boost control and crank it up. This is the one most TurboForders use.............................

nevermind i know were mine is it looks exactly like the thing that i broke last weekend replacing vaccum hoses because one of the ones that went from the boost controller to the turbo was dryrotted and wasnt hooked up and i broke one of the vaccum tabs coming out of it i guess its a good time to replace it.

Yep, good ones are hard to find because when you remove the vacuum hoses, the nipples usually go with them! If you can't find one, the one in the picture is $15 shipped to your door. LMK.

well i might have to take the deal but if i plan on upgrading it why not just spend $45 now instead of $15 and then later on spend $45

what do you think i used super glue to get the nipple back on for the short term and its holding up for now but can you pull the botom off the controller and take a pic? i would like to see what it looks like underneith

Sorry for hijacking your thread.

hey, its all good, this info will still help me out! I'll have to compare turbos and see what i have, I'll try to post some pics of the one i have laying around. I might not be a T3, but it will still be nice to know what it is.

I pics of the turbo i have posted in an album called turbo. It looks pretty similar, but it also has some differences too, so any help on what that turbo is would help.
